The Michael Law Firm was founded in 2003 by Issa J. Michael. Mr. Michael graduated with Honors from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1996, in the top 20% of his class, and received the prestigious American Jurisprudence Award.
Mr. Michael is a San Francisco native. He grew up in the City's Sunset and Lakeshore districts, graduating from Saint Cecilia's Elementary School and Saint Ignatius High School in 1987. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from San Francisco State in 1991, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Beta Gamma Sigma (the Phi Beta Kappa equivalent in Business). For two years post-graduation and before returning to law school, Mr. Michael worked for NCR Corporation, marketing its sophisticated mainframe computer systems and software to Fortune 100 companies while meeting with top corporate executives.
From the beginning of his law career to the present, Mr. Michael has worked exclusively as a litigation and trial attorney. From 1996 to 2002, Mr. Michael worked primarily in insurance and corporate defense, serving as outside counsel for some of America's largest insurance companies and private companies such as The Hartford, Southern Pacific Transportation Company, Union Pacific Railroad and Freightliner.
In 2002 and 2003, Mr. Michael specialized exclusively in the representation of injured railroad workers under the Federal Employer's Liability Act (FELA), where he prosecuted cases primarily in Federal Court, helping secure millions of dollars for clients.
In 2003, Mr. Michael founded his firm. The firm focuses exclusively on the representation of seriously injured individuals. Mr. Michael has secured millions of dollars for his clients through trial and settlements.
Mr. Michael and his cases have been featured in local and national media such as KPIX (CBS), KGO News (ABC), The Recorder, Daily Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, Wall Street Journal, Contra Costa News, and San Jose Mercury.
Mr. Michael is a member of the California Bar, San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, and Consumer Attorneys of California. He is admitted to practice in every Federal Court in California. Although based in San Francisco, the firm litigates cases throughout the State and across the Nation.
